Over 127,394 special voters, comprising security personnel, electoral commission officials and the media, are expected to cast their votes in the Special voting exercise today (Thursday).

The early voting exercise by these set of professionals ahead of the December 7 general elections date, is to enable them play critical roles on the main election day.

The Electoral Commission conducting the special voting exercise at designated polling centres across the country, which starts at 7:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm.

The results of the special voting will not be declared until December 7.

Meanwhile the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has faulted the voters register to be used for the exercise.

According to NPP’s campaign manager Peter Mac Manu, the party has identified multiple registrants in the electoral roll provided by the EC.

He noted that due to the irregularity, the party’s agents will protest and challenge the eligibility of such voters when they come to vote.
