The performance of the Cedi against the major trading currencies since January this year was topmost among the issues discussed at Cabinet meeting Wednesday July 15.

The gathering chaired by President John Mahama also evaluated the 2015 Budget half year, and further studied supplementary estimates to be presented to Parliament later this year.

The meeting also assessed strategies being employed to solve the power crisis currently facing the country.

Additional matters discussed at today’s meeting was the need to create more employment opportunities for the youth and the financial support of the Digital Migration Project from proceeds to be derived from auctioning redundant spectrums.

Finance Minister Seth Terkper is expected to present to Parliament, on behalf of President John Mahama, the Midyear review of the Budget and Supplementary Estimates for 2015.
