The Ghana Police Service says it has arrested three people in the Ashanti Region for printing accreditation cards of the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana.

The trio, Kasapafmonline.com understands, was arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police Command and has since been locked up in custody where they are being interrogated for possible prosecution in the coming days.

The exact location and time of the arrest is immediately not known.

In a tweet announcing the arrest, the Police said “we remain vigilant” as far as the conduct of Wednesday’s polls are concerned.

They, however, refused to identify the arrested trio.

The EC is the only state institution mandated to conduct public elections in the country. It also has the singular responsibility to issue out accreditation cards to observers to monitor any elections they conduct in the country.
