Ghana’s Total Public Debt rose from GH¢ 88.1 billion in April to GH¢ 89.5 billion as at May 2015, officials say.

The figures were released by the Bank of Ghana after a review of the economy.

Governor of the Bank of Ghana who is also the chairman of the Monetary Policy Committee, Dr Henry Kofi Wampah says Ghana’s debt to GDP ratio now stands at 67.1%,  he said this at a media briefing in Accra.

Nonetheless, he reiterated this is likely to go down with the appreciation of the cedi.
