German airline, Luthansa, will officially cease its Ghana operations in October.

The award-winning carrier has written to the Transport Ministry, of its decision to finally leave in October.

The decision is part of Luthansa’s restructuring efforts in Africa after it bought a 45-percent stake in Brussels Airlines.

Luthansa has stepped up efforts to buy the remaining 55 percent.
