Brussels Airlines will take over the Accra-Frankfurt route as Luthansa exits.

The airline is also earning the Nairobi-Brussels route as an addition, in a deal reached after Luthansa acquired substantial stake in Brussels.

Luthansa has since folded up its Ghana operations – also part part of its restructuring efforts in Africa.

Its operations in Ghana will now be sold and positioned as Brussels.

The award-winning carrier has written to the Transport Ministry, of its decision to finally leave in October.

The decision is part of Luthansa’s restructuring efforts in Africa after it bought a 45-percent stake in Brussels Airlines.

Luthansa has stepped up efforts to buy the remaining 55 percent.
