Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) in Ghana have reduced prices of petroleum products by 15 percent.

The decision was reached after the price of crude oil on the world market fell sharply. The cedi’s strange performance against the major foreign currencies in recent times was also a factor, officials say.

The OMCs have since June increased the prices of various petroleum products by some 20 percent.

Regulating body, the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has taken step towards implementing the deregulation of the downstream sector.
