President of Ivory Coast, Alassane Ouattara will be the Special Guest Speaker at the inauguration of President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo, the inauguration committee has revealed.
The President-elect will be sworn-in on Saturday, January 7, at the Independence Square in Accra after he beat incumbent President, John Mahama during the December 7 election by polling 53.85% to 44.43% of popular votes to emerge as President-elect and the 5th President of the Fourth Republic.
Eleven other Heads of State from some African and European countries and some top diplomats are expected in the country Friday ahead of Saturday’s programme.
About 5000 security officers will be detailed at the inauguration ceremony.
The security officers who will be drawn from the various security agencies including the Army, Police, and the National Security Apparatus will ensure a secured environment for the over 6,000 guests who are expected at the august event.
