The Mayor of Accra, Dr Alfred Okoe Vanderpuye had the shock of his life when former President J.J Rawlings snubbed him in public as they both made their way to Parliament House to witness the delivery of the State of the Nation Address by President John Mahama.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, the Accra Mayor who’s also Member of Parliament-elect for Ablekuma North is seen greeting the ex-president who responded with a stern look in his face.
As they climbed the staircase it appears the Mayor wanted to further engage the former President, but the eccentric J.J Rawlings will not have any of such engagements as he signaled him not to come near him.
It is unclear what motivated the action of the former President.
