Eighty-six year old man shocked residents at Anlo Town, a suburb of the New Juaben Municipality in the Eastern region after he committed suicide.

The deceased hanged himself in his chamber and hall room on Saturday at a time most Ghanaian were busily trooping to  the inaugural Ceremony of  President elect ,Nana Akufo Addo.

Speaking to Kasapa FM’s Eastern regional Correspondent, Kojo Ansah, the New Juaben Municipal Police Commander, Superintendent Richardson Kumeko, narrated that, police received information in the Morning that a man has committed suicide in his room.

He said police personnel and investigators were dispatched to the scene where the deceased, Samuel Sarpong, was found hanging at the entrance of his room at Hno.AT/D11 Anlo Town with electrical cable around his neck.

He said, lafter after taking inventories and other relevant crime scene information, the body of the deceased was conveyed to Regional Hospital Kdua for preservation and postmortem examination.

According to Superintendent Kumeko, preliminary investigations indicates that, the deceased had been troubled by the fact that his children had neglected him to wallow in hardship.

Meanwhile D/cpl Derrick Kofi Owusu,D/inspector Edwin Tetteh and D/Sgt Alex Donkoh, both investigators have been tasked to further investigate the incident.
