Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur says the economic recovery strategies put in place to salvage Ghana’s economic crisis has yielded good results, as the country’s fiscal challenge is beginning to see a major improvement.

Ghana has entered into a fiscal bailout agreement with the IMF following years of economic decline.

Critics say the conditions attached to  the IMF offer will be inimical to the economic growth of the country.

But Mr Amissah Arthur  believes the efforts made by government to address the shortfalls in the economy has made some significant gains.

“This year we are experiencing an improvement in economic circumstances, we are therefore confident that the programmes and projects and the measures we are implementing will continue to yield good results,”

The Vice president gave the assurance whiles addressing Muslims at the Independence Square to mark the end of the Ramadan fast.

The Vice President also hinted government’s commitment on giving Muslims a successful and smooth pilgrimage to Mecca this year.

“We expect that with arrangements and efforts being put in, the 2015 Hajj will exceed the performance of last year and I urge all of your to contribute and cooperate fully to make it successful”.
