Chairman of the Kumasi Petty Traders Nana Akwasi Prempeh has urged the Asanteman Traditional council to blame the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) over poor sanitation system in Kumasi which is disgracing Asanteman ahead of the burial of the late Asantehemaa Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.
Asanteman Traditional Council on Saturday 14th January 2017 declared Asanteman Sanitation day ahead of the late Asantehemaa’s funeral.
Residents of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region embarked on clean-up exercise within the metropolis as part of preparations towards the burial of the late Asantehemaa.
Sanitation situation in Asanteman has started worsening after the clean up exercise due to lack of dust bins in some places of Kumasi.
Chairman of the Kumasi Petty Traders Nana Akwasi Prempeh speaking to Kumasi based Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo stated that KMA failed to put proper measures in place to handle the issue of sanitation in Kumasi ahead of the late Asantehemaa Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.
” Manhyia Traditional Council should blame the KMA for poor sanitation issue in Kumasi, and nobody else” he said.
