Former Black Stars player Nii Odartey Lamptey has revealed that he will jump at the opportunity to coach Kumasi Asante Kotoko if he’s offered the job.

Odartey Lamptey, who ended his playing career with the porcupine warriors has had a previous coaching experience with Sekondi Eleven Wise when he was an assistant to C K Akunnor in the 2009/10 season.

Kotoko have been experiencing a turbulent season so far this year, having already replaced Didi Dramani with David Duncan.

Odartey Lamptey in a chat with Benjamin Yamoah on kumasi based Ultimate FM revealed that he could be the man to salvage Kotoko from their slumber, but only if Kotoko believe they’re not doing him a favour by offering him the job.

“You can never say never in football and it can happen and personally if kotoko offer me the coaching job because they believe that I can do it, why not but not because they want to do me a favour. Pep Guardiola and Luis Enrique are proving that given the job, former players can also do a good job as managers or coaches,” Lamptey said.
