The Chancellor of Abbeam Institute of Technology, Rev. Dr. Abbeam Ampomah Danso has charged the Ghana Police Service to be very proactive in managing the security of the Ghanaian citizenry.
He said some people in the recent times have taken the law into their own hands by seeking revenge and instant justice on people whom they suspect as offenders or criminals.
What makes the issue more worrying and threatening according to him, is the recording and publishing of such videos footages by the perpetrators onto social media platforms.
“Some people now have take video footage of their irresponsible attacks on suspected offenders and publish them on social media, and yet, the Police are very silent about it,” he said.
Rev. Dr. Abbeam Danso advised that, the security of the citizens should be of greater concern to the Government.
He also urged the government to empower the Ghana Police Service to regulate and monitor security on social media.
