On the February 11, Love’s Closet Foundation in partnership with The Category Events and SOF Ghana, organised the ‘Love’s Closet Charity Fair’, an Autism Awareness event.
The Fair took place at the Sakumono Village School Park from 9am to 4pm.
This event involved a mega thrift store sale of new or fairly used clothing, books, household items and priceless arts and crafts created by children from the Autism Awareness Care and Training Centre (AACT). Other activities included Health screening, Face painting, children’s video games and many more.
All proceeds from this massive one-day thrift store sale were given to fund the needs of the Autism Awareness Care and Training Centre.
On Thursday 16th February, a donation of items worth GHC3,500 was made to the Autism Awareness Care and Training Centre. In addition, a Cheque of GHC2000
was given as a contribution to a fund for a new Centre.
The Foundation also surprised Mr Kweku Ofei with a cheque of GHC 1000 in support of his son Joel who has autism. The Ofei Family inspired the Foundation to take up the Autism Awareness project.
