The Council of State has okayed the appointments of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) David Asante Apeatu; Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Major General Obed Akwa; and Chief of Army Staff Major Gen William Azure Ayamdo pursuant to Article 202 and 212 of the 1992 constitution.
A statement from the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, said the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has thus confirmed their appointments, and hence “take effect forthwith”.
They were until their confirmation serving in acting capacity.
