Indisputably, Ghanaian female movie stars, Grace Nortey, Akua Ataa (Kyeiwaa) and Akyere Bruwaa are top actresses noted for playing ‘witch’ roles in most Ghanaian movies.

Recently another Kumasi based actress, Christiana Awuni who is known for her natural backside endowment has also joined the ‘witches’ role in movies.

Awuni in an interview with Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kasapa Entertainment on Kasapa 102.5 Fm, Saturday, disclosed that most movie directors see her as the best substitute for the role of a witch in films.

“I don’t choose such ‘devilish’ roles by myself, it depends on the storyline and I also think that may be the film makers see me as the good choice for that part. Aside that I’ve also featured in movies playing good roles.”

She noted that she is not a ‘witch’ in real life but she just plays out such characters in the movies she features in.

When asked why she prefers such roles, she said “Apart from Madam Grace Nortey, Kyeiwaa is the leader in playing ‘witch’ roles in movies.”

Christiana Awuni said her movie career has helped her and expressed worry about the current situation of the industry not being capable of assisting veteran actors when they are no more active.

Giving her opinion on why people tag local movies as insulting, Awuni hinted that it’s normal because those words are spoken as usual language in most conversations.

Speaking about her heavy backside, Awuni noted “I’m not worried about people talking about my heavy butts because someone also has big head or big nose so I can’t cut them off once is God’s gift.”

According to her, in most movies cameramen zoom closely on her big backside to make it look as if it’s extraordinary but in reality it just a standard size.
