Ghanaian gospel singer, Pastor Joe Beecham has disclosed that as a minister of the gospel he fears to miss heaven.
According to him, it will be sad if he misses heaven since he has committed his whole life doing the will of God by ministering the gospel to many who are oppressed in life.
“My biggest fear is, if I don’t make it to heaven… I told someone that there’s something about me which is divine… something religious about me which I can’t even erase it, can’t throw it away.
“I was one day invited to a political rally which I didn’t know it was a rally because I was initially told it was a thanksgiving. I started singing and people were falling on the field… so I told myself after all these powerful ministering and I don’t make it to heaven then that will be very sad.”
Commenting on his relationship with veteran gospel acts, Mrs. Amy Newman, Rev. Charley Sam and KODA, he said, “Rev. Charley Sam brought me up in the music industry, he is a father to me, Mrs. Amy Newman inspired me a lot since she is a mother to me and KODA is a brother to me, he did the instrumentation to my popular song ‘Se me kae’.
Pastor Beecham described his darker years as difficult moment for the reason that it took him ten years after marriage for his wife to get pregnant and gave birth to their only child.
“I’m married for 16 years with one kid; it took me 10 years to have my first child. It was difficult and very hard but in the ninth year I prayed to God that ‘You are my God and I’m your child’ which was one of my popular songs.
“I told God that you’ve used me to be a blessing to others; women who were barren have conceived and given birth through my ministry, someone didn’t have a womb at all but through my ministration God made that woman put to birth… so I told God in prayers that so you’ve used me to do all these things and this small thing you can’t do, I won’t ask you again. That same year, which was my ninth year after marriage, it happened. My wife conceived. The name of my first child is Elisa,” Pastor Beecham told Feeling Daddy on Empire 102.7FM.
