Vigilante group aligned to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Invisible Forces, in the Brong Ahafo region says it has only taken over the Kintampo Waterfalls as security men on site, contrary to speculations that it has hijacked the facility and mismanaging affairs at the place.

There were reports that the Invisible Forces sacked professionally trained tour guides and managers of the Waterfall who had the expertise to man the facility.

Critics have largely blamed the Kintampo tragedy on the absence of professional handlers of the waterfall at the time of the disaster.

In a reaction to the development, the Regional Coordinator of the Invisible forces in the Brong Ahafo region, Mohammed Sallu in an interview with Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM said there is a general compromise that party boys should assist in providing security at the Waterfalls.

“The administration of the waterfall is still under the Assembly. We are only collaborating with the assembly in providing security at the site because there is no policemen at the place. This has been the practice, because for the past eight years, Assembly had also collaborated with NDC boys to manage the facility. So when our party came to power they had to make way for us to take over the place. There was a mutual agreement that party security should be there.

“I will not condone any wrongdoing by my boys. If there are reports of any wrongdoing by my boys I investigate and take the necessary actions on it.  When the issue broke that the Invisible Forces have taken over the Waterfalls, I went there to ascertain the issues, and they told me when I visited the place that their presence there was purely based on collaboration with the District Assembly. As a matter of fact, we are entitled to some percentage paid weekly on revenues from the Waterfalls.”
