This thirsty ‘ marathon runner’ was filmed making a quick pit-stop to grab a bottle of beer before rejoining the race.
Francisco Cabello was so tired from pounding the pavements that he decided a refreshing drink was just the thing he needed so he stopped off at a pub on the way for a pint.
The funny moment was captured on camera and quickly went viral, taking place during the “Osorno Fluor Run 2017”, a race that took place in the city of Osorno, in the southern Chilean region of Los Lagos.
The 34-year-old raced the night run dressed in long trousers, shoes and a red T-shirt and in the footage he can be seen running behind one of the athletes.
He then leaves his place, goes into a bar full of people, takes a beer bottle, and leaves the bar while taking a swig before joining back in with the race.
Spectators can be heard giggling in the background as they film the comedic moment, with one heard saying: “Here, here, compadre, hahahah!”
He said: “Everything started because it was the penultimate day of the Bar called Antro Bar, that closed on Saturday and I was doing some shopping and I started to run the marathon. I was running and one of the guys who works in the local started to record me.
“And while running , I entered in the bar, took a beer and I continued running while drinking it. I ran a bit just for fun, I was not participating.”
Many viewers of the clip commended the man on his decision.
One named ‘Rodolfo Alejandro Miranda’ said: “This is exactly what I refer when saying a bit of sport, hahaha.”
Another named ‘Fabian Cristobal Delgado’ added: “A stop to hydrate for the night race.”
