Eight members of the dreaded vigilante group, Delta Force, who aided 13 of their colleagues to escape Police custody after last week’s Thursday court siege in Kumasi by the suspects will today be arraigned before the Kumasi Circuit court 2 to face trial.

Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo reports that security around the court has improved following the mayhem caused by the NPP vigilante group.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command will escort the suspects to court shortly.

The 13 were facing trial Thursday but they were whisked away by the eight suspects from police custody after a Circuit Court hearing in connection with an earlier mayhem.

The escape followed a ruling by the judge to remand the 13 to prison custody until April, 20 in their trial by a  Kumasi Circuit court for  the assault of the Regional Security Coordinator.

Reports say all the suspects turned themselves in on Thursday shortly after their other colleagues aided them to flee the court.

The court siege has been roundly condemned by various stakeholders describing it as sickening.

The Ghana Bar Association issued a statement minutes after the act condemning the attack describing it as an attack on the rule of law and the independence of the Judiciary.
