Member of Parliament for Akim Abuakwa South, Lawyer Atta Akyea says National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong have created a problem in the party that could consume them sooner than later.

According to him, their posture since occupying their respective positions in the party has been one that militates against the cohesion and development of the NPP.

The NPP has known no peace ever since it emerged from its national congress held in Tamale April 12 2014. Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong have come under intense pressure from section of the party and the public to resign their positions, as they are thought to be clandestinely working to ensure the defeat of Nana Akufo Addo in the 2016 election.

Founding member of the Party, Mr George Ayisi Boateng has also called on Nana Akufo Addo to sideline the two officials from his 2016 campaign activities, as they cannot be trusted due to their posture.

Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr 103.5 FM Wednesday, Atta Akyea noted that the attitude of the two officials is not in tune with that of the party and will not inure to the benefit of the NPP which is poised for electoral victory.

He added that if Kwabena Agyepong and Paul Afoko refuse to re-align themselves to the party they will eventually fall into disuse, adding that they will not be of any importance to the party.

“One of the lowest points in my life was when Kwabena Agyepong threatened to go public with certain information about the NPP, my God, such utterances should rather come from the NDC and not him, he sees himself more important than the party”.
