A member of the ruling National Democratic Congress, and one-time Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yammin is leaving the Party, kasapafmonline.com is told.
A press conference to officially announce his resignation from the Party is expected to be held in the next few hours, this website can say.
Host of Kasapa FM’s afternoon political talk show, Si Mi So, Kwaku Owusu Adjei tells this website that barring any last minute change of mind, the former Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports will be on his way out of a Party he helped to win political power seven years ago.
Yammin this website is reliably informed is unhappy with happenings in the Party, and has resorted to the exit as a way of registering his protest. Persons familiar with the impending decision say he feels sidelined and “left out of a lot of action.
“He feels he’s worked too hard for the Party and should not be ignored.”
A key figure in the ruling Party in the Ashanti Region, he was together with his boss axed from their Regional positions in March 2015 as part of a major restructuring exercise by the John Mahama-led government.
Prior to that he was Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports position. He was reassigned in June 2014.
