Twenty two students of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) arrested over their involvement in clashes between ATL and Ogua Halls during the hall week celebration have been rusticated.

Three students were stabbed in March this year at UCC following a clash between students of the University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the University of Cape Coast.

One of the students, Emmanuel Quarshie who was stabbed several times as he tried to enter his hall from night studies is currently paralysed. He’s presently receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital.

At the end of investigations, the 22 students were found culpable and rusticated by the University for one and two academic years.

They are to leave the campus with immediate effect even as they have exams to sit next week.

The affected students are all residents of Atlantic Hall and they are said to have been rusticated based on the principle of ultimate responsibility as they invited students from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and University of Ghana.
