President Akufo-Addo has charged Ghana’s new Ambassadors to help attract high volume of Investment into the country.

He explains, this is necessary to open up the economy and create massive boost in jobs to absorb the youth of the country.

President Akufo-Addo wants the new Ambassadors to be guided by the Country’s principles of Economic Diplomacy and become effective promoters of Ghana’s economic interests abroad.

He made this remark at the presentation of credentials to eight new Ambassadors.

“You’re the most visible symbol of our country out there. This means you have the responsibility to drive private sector investment into Ghana. You are the Chief promoters of Ghana’s commercial interests to the respective countries to which you’re going. Promoting Ghana means working closely with our Ministries, and Agencies and all whose role it is to generate investment in the country. Remember vividly, the slogans of our flagship programmes – One-district-one-factory, One-Village-One-dam, Planting for Food and Jobs. They are descriptions of our commitment to the rapid development and transformation of the nation’s Industrial and Agricultural sector.” 

The accredited Ambassadors are Edward Boateng, Ambassador to China, Fred Laryea, Ambassador to Ivory Coast, Stephen Yakubu, Ambassador to Morocco.

The rest are Gina Blay, who heads to Germany, Former CHRAJ Boss, Hannah Bossman to France, Paapa Owusu Ankomah, former MP also heads to UK and Ambassador Baawuah, former Ambassador under erstwhile Kufuor administration heads to United States.

Rasheed Bawa, is Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria.
