A man believed to be in his 30’s drowned in a pond at Teacher -Mante in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern region on Sunday.
The deceased, identified as Kwasi Ammarh was swimming in the pond with his five year old boy when both began to drown, however the child was saved by an eyewitness.
Several efforts to rescue the man failed despite intervention by a joint rescue team from Ayensuano National Disaster Management Organization, (NADMO) and Ghana National Fire Service from Nsawam.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Nsawam Government Hospital Morgue by the Police.
