If Ghanaians are waiting to vote a Nana Addo-led government to boost infrastructure development in the country, they will be disappointed miserably, Eastern Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mark Oliver Kevor has said.
According to him, Nana Addo in the eight years of his government in power, failed in prosecuting any meaningful development for the Akyem enclave, especially in the Akim-Abuakwa South constituency where he’d been an MP for the area.
Kevor also a board member of the National Communication Authority told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM that the NPP flagbearer is weak in development initiatives, hence cannot be trusted with political power.
He contends that unlike the NPP who have no development inspired message to campaign on, the ruling National Democratic Congress will not be found wanting in development strategies that will aid their campaign ahead of the 2016 general elections.
Mr Kevor is reported to have said that the NPP come 2016 will not get any message to promote its campaign because the ruling NDC government will by then have solved the prevailing power crisis in the country.
However, Nana Ofori Atta, the New Patriotic Party(NPP) first Vice Chair in the Eastern Region in a rebuttal on the same show Tuesday Morning said the NDC government has woefully failed Ghanaians as the massive gains made under President Kufuor have all been poorly managed in the system.
“Almost everything initiated under the Kufuor administration has been collapsed; the Ghana School Feeding Programme(GSFP), National Health Insurance scheme(NHIS) and the capitation grant have all been collapsed in the system by the NDC government.”
“They’ve stalled development for the people here in the Eastern region, and Ghanaians cannot afford to give them the mandate again to rule the country for another term; all they know best is to create, loot and share the resources of this country”
