Businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome has told the Supreme Court during his Oral examination that he has been engaged in any meaningful job since his arrest and prosecution in 2011.
The Oral examination of embattled businessman and Judgment debtor Alfred Woyome is ongoing at the Supreme Court.
A single Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Alfred Benin, on the 4th of July 2017 paved the way for the oral examination when he dismissed an application by Mr. Woyome, challenging the State’s motion seeking an order to orally examine him on how he spent the 51 million cedis paid to him illegally.
Indications from the AG’s office were that, the examination would encompass issues pertaining to whether he owed any debts, whether he has property to satisfy the debt, and the manner in which he used the judgment debt money paid him, among others.
The deputy Minister of Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame who led the oral examination in court today asked the means or sources through which Mr. Woyome had his income in order to recover the monies due the State some three years after the Apex Court of the land declared payments made to him as illegal and unconstitutional.
