Ghana’s dream of participating in the FIFA World Cup for a fourth consecutive time in Russia 2018, appears to have hit a snag after the senior National Team, the Black Stars drew 1-1 with with their Congolese counterpart in Kumasi today.

The Black Stars had their destiny in their hands after Uganda’s 1-0 home triumph over Egypt on Thursday. Second on the table and two points adrift of the Pharaohs ahead of the big clash, the Cranes have now jumped top of the table.

Ghana, following a scoreless draw with Uganda and a 2-0 fall at Egypt in the opening two games, still sit a lowly third ahead of Congo with just two points.

The Black Stars play a return leg with Congo in Brazzaville on Tuesday.
