Family of the late popular Radio Presenter, Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong aka KABA has expressed displeasure over comments by some of the deceased’s former colleagues and friends that have sought to state what caused his death.

According to the family, such show of gross insensitivity at this very difficult time when they’re still finding it difficult to come to terms with KABA’s demise should stop immediately.

The former show host on Asempa FM passed on Saturday, November 18, 2017 while being rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra following a short illness. KABA was host of Asempa FM’s popular afternoon political show, ‘Eko Sii Sen’.

But barely 72 hours after his death, some colleagues and friends of the late Journalist took to social media to post comments that some have interpreted to mean that they suspect someone might have been behind KABA’s death.

Some have also said the talented broadcaster who’s said to be diabetic died after his sugar level shot up, while others claim he died from an enlarged heart and kidney.

But speaking to Kasapa News, a very worried spokesperson for KABA’s Family, George Darko said none of the claims in the public domain about the possible cause of KABA’s death is correct, adding that the family is appalled by such speculations.

To be very frank with you, the family is not the least happy with what some of his colleagues and friends are doing. This is because Kwadwo (KABA) is a Christian, as Christians when we die we die in the Lord, and we don’t go behind the scenes to look for what might have caused our relatives death. We rather give thanks to God. Some people are saying he died from stress, hypertension, diabetes, juju is not true.

He added: “God brought Kwadwo into this world and he took him back when he was 37 years old and we have no issue with that. Even Jesus our Savior whom we believe in as Christians died at age 33. So these claims over his cause of death my stop. We beg his former colleagues and friends, KABA has died in the Lord and so we beg them they should shut their mouths. Let’s all with one accord and in love see our departed brother off in peace. This is a passionate appeal,” Mr George Darko said.

KABA used to host Adom TV’s morning show – Badwam – before taking on the Ekosii Sen mantle from Kwabena Bobie Ansah.

He has had stint with Top Radio in Accra before joining the Multimedia family. He left behind a wife and a seven month old daughter.

One week memorial service of KABA’s passing will be held in Abeka La Paz in Accra on Saturday, 24th November, 2017.
