The Black Maidens have advanced to the final stage of the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup after beating Gambia 2-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium on Saturday.

Suzzy Dede Teye and Mukarama Abdulai scored for Ghana to see the national junior female side complete a 7-1 aggregate win over their Gambian counterparts.

After a scoreless first half, Coach Evans Adotey’s side left it late to grab a win as Lady Strikers midfielder scored the opner in the 85th minute.

Mukarama Abdulai then sealed the win for Ghana with her 92nd minute strike.

Ghana will now play Djibouti in the final stage of the qualifiers with the Black Maidens set to travel for the first leg between February 2-4 and the return encounter set for February 16-18.

The 2018 FIFA Women’s U17 WOrld Cup will be staged in Uruguay from 13 November – 1 December, 2018.
