Bekwai Police Command is on a manhunt for kitchen staff at the Denyaseman Senior High School in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region for stealing eleven (11) crates of eggs meant for students.
The suspect whose identity is yet to be established was caught by a security man on duty when he attempted to smuggle eleven (11) crates of eggs from the school.
Information gathered by Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo indicates that the incident occurred Monday December 18, 2017 around 8:00 pm when the students were in their various dormitories.
The suspect, according to reports threw the eggs on the floor when the alarm was raised.
According to school authorities, there have been rumors lately about some kitchen staff and matrons stealing foodstuffs meant for the students to town to go and sell.
Assistant Headmaster of the school Mr. Patrick Kumoji who confirmed the incident to Osei Kwadwo said they have lodged complaint with the Bekwai Police to arrest the suspect.
However Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Kwaku Kyei Baffour warned Matrons and Kitchen Staff in the various Senior High Schools to refrain from the act gaining roots in second-cycle institutions.
According to Kwaku Kyei Baffour, government will deal with Headmasters, Matrons, Kitchen staff and teachers who want to frustrate the Free SHS programme by their evil deeds.
