Ten shops and four vehicles have been destroyed by fire at Suame Magazine near Suame Police in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region.
Properties worth thousands of cedis have been destroyed following the fire which started Tuesday dawn around 2am.
A victim Akwasi Nsiah Amoako speaking to Abusua FM’s Osei kwadwo said the situation would have been different if the fire service personnel had arrived at the scene on time.
According to him, the fire was caused by caterers at Nuru Islamic Basic school nearby failed to completely put out the fire they used for cooking.
“The situation is very disheartening because we have lost all our properties. We are appealing to authorities to come to our aid” he said.
Meanwhile the Fire Service personnel who came to the scene have not been able to ascertain the cause of fire as investigations continue.
