The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Branch Chairman of Asotwe Electoral area in the Ejisu constituency in the Ashanti Region, Osei Bonsu has boldly stated that he’s prepared to go every length including sacrificing his manhood to ensure the party wins power in the 2020 general elections.
According to him, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been so abysmal since assuming power and has brought untold economic hardship on Ghanaians and must not be allowed to govern the country beyond the year 2020.
“I’m saying today that if it will take me to sacrifice my manhood to ensure NDC returns to power I’ll happily do that. The rest of NDC members should know that some of us are even ready to lose our lives in the interest of the party and so they should also do same. For some of us, whether in life or death, we’ll always seek the good of the NDC. If we’ll come to power in 2020 it will take our collective effort in diverse ways. For me, I don’t have money, but if I’ll have to sacrifice my penis for a ritual to deliver victory for the NDC, I’ll do that.”
Former President John Mahama, then flag bearer of the NDC, lost by more than 9% of total votes to the NPP’s Nana Akufo-Addo.
Akufo-Addo obtained a staggering 5,716,609 of total votes cast in the 2016 elections, representing 53.84%, to snatch the Presidency from John Mahama, who secured 4,713,277 votes (44.40%).
The NDC also lost more than 40 parliamentary seats to the NPP. NDC’s performance at last year’s polls is its worst since 1992.
