Former morning show host on mass market radio station Kasapa 102.5 Fm, Fiifi Banson has revealed that his “poaching fee” from Radio Gold to Peace FM in the year 2001 was so huge it was able to build him a four bedroom house.

“Can you imagine 3o, 000,000 cedis (GHC3,000) in the year 2000-2001, it built a four-bedroom house. That’s where my mother lives…in Gbawe…yes it built a four-bedroom house. That’s 18 years ago. That’s how I got to Peace FM, ‘Despite’ was not even sure that I’ll come and he gave the money to me in a green rubber bag.” He disclosed to Bola Ray on Starr Chat.

According to him, he was excited over that move because he was going to have his own show and not sit-in for other presenters like Benji Kumasi or having only his Sports programme to contend with.

Fiifi Banson affectionately called the ‘Dynamite’ worked with Peace FM for 15 years where he hosted the drive time show and later signed a three-year deal with Excellence In Broadcasting (EIB) Network, operators of Kasapa FM in May 2015, where he was until 1st May, 2018 the host of the station’s morning show, ‘Anopa Kasapa’.

He’s denied reports suggesting that he’s heading back to Peace FM.

The veteran broadcaster has said he’s quit doing radio for now and rather pursuing other interests including sports content production and focusing on his work at the Africa Centre for Sports Studies at the Zenith University College in Accra.

Fiifi Banson is still the host of Football Legend show on GhOne TV also under the EIB brand.
