The Western Regional branch of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has endorsed candidature of Sammi Awuku for National Organiser.
According to the group, this decision was birthed after extensive consultation with all 26 constituencies in the Western Region.
As an experienced communicator and civic leader, Sammi has proven himself to be a true champion and much-needed voice for the NPP.
After his illustrious service to the youth as the National Youth Organiser, leading the greatest youth mobilisation effort in Ghana for the 2016 victory for the NPP, our faith in him remains unshaken. We believe Sammi will continue the fight against the NDC’s populism and help consolidate the gains of the NPP.
Our decision is premised on these few examples of Sammi Awuku’s record as party official and a patriot.
- As a National Youth Organiser, Sammi worked with a unifying force, working with every person regardless of background, religion and gender, while also choosing his deputies from the North and West. This has demonstrated his clear commitment to the progressive values of regional balance in our party.
- In 2016, Sammi campaigned with us here in the Western Region through rains, dark and turbulence. He has proven to be energetic and hard-working. We are more than convinced that, Sammi has what it takes to be the National Organiser of the NPP.
- Sammi’s clear understanding of the complex budgetary considerations during election 2016, which made him go his own way to solicit for extra funds for party work was outstanding. His leadership experience in organising people and resources for both political and civic action is pleasing.
In conclusion, we see Sammi as a marketing and communications professional with invaluable experience managing large teams and strategic planning. As a National Youth Organiser, he has fostered cooperative relationships with every person in and outside the NPP and we know,
