John Gabulja, father of a twin said to have died at the Ridge Hospital in Accra has denied ever sighting the body of his supposed dead baby.

This is in contrast with the account given by hospital authorities who have contested after the alleged demise of the baby that he[John Gabulja,] saw the baby before the facility disposed off the body.

The medical director of the hospital, Emmanuel Sorofonyo, had said the baby died on May 14, 2018 and the father, Mr Gabulja was made to see the baby and given the chance to take the corpse home for burial, but told them he will get back to the hospital later.

However, the father of the dead baby said,  the reasons given by the hospital authorities per their protocols before disposing off the baby is frivolous.

“It is not true…I was at the hospital every single day until June 12, [2018] and the baby died on May 16, [2018] so it is not even a month yet,” Mr Gabulja said in a radio interview on Accra based Joy FM.

According to him, he’d been visiting on daily basis the wife and his surviving baby but was never contacted about the corpse, insisting the hospital’s claim that they couldn’t establish contacts with the family to take their corpse is false.

He added: “They haven’t even told me the cause of death, all that the doctor said was it is an unfortunate death.”
