The Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Ho West, Emmanuel Kwesi Bedzrah has written to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Mike Aaron Oquaye informing him of his decision to resign.

He’s also copied Leadership of the Minority caucus over his decision.

His reasons for his action is not officially known yet, but close sources told Kasapafmonline.com, that the MP whom some have described as one of the finest Legislators on the Minority side of Parliament was compelled albeit reluctantly to take the hard decision because he continues to be undermined by some Constituency executives who have purposed to see him lose his seat in the party’s primaries.

Hon. Bedzrah who has been in Parliament since 2009 till date, is said to have complained severally about the plots against him by his detractors within the party to some national executives, but nothing has been done about the situation.

The frustrated Ranking Member on the Government Assurance Committee of Parliament thus decided to call its quits.

Sources say the several NDC MPs who are shocked by the turn of events are trying to impress upon the worried Legislator to rescind his decision.

Hon. Bedzrah is a Development planner, Architect and Quantity surveyor by profession.

He was born on September 11, 1949 and hails from Bowiri-Anyinase in the Volta Region.

He holds a Diploma in Education which he acquired at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana’s Central Region in 1980, an Ordinary Technician Diploma (OTD) from the Takoradi Polytechnic in 1988, an Advance Diploma in Quantity Surveying from Ellis School of Building Worcester, England in 1992, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from the University of Ghana, Legon in 2003 and a Master’s degree in Development Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) from 2010 to 2012.
