US-based Constitutional Lawyer , Professor Kwaku Asare has withdrawn his application seeking for an interlocutory injunction on the impending Ghana School of Law entrance exams.

In court today, the applicant through his lawyer Kweku Bentil admitted to some irregularities to their affidavit in support.

This was after lawyers of the Attorney General Department and the General Legal Council(GLC) had raised preliminary legal objection to the application.

The seven member panel chaired by Justice Jones Victor Dotse consequently struck out the application and granted him liberty to re-apply.

Commenting on the development, Prof. Asare told sister station Starr FM that he will refile “the same documentation tomorrow [Thursday July 18, 2018].

“We will come back tomorrow and if we come back tomorrow we are going to insist that there is a hearing,” he said.

Prof. Asare’s application of injunction on the impending Ghana School of Law exams which was struck out by the apex court Wednesday was premised on the fact that the orders of the Supreme Court in that ruling was not fully complied with.

The Supreme Court last year ruled that it is unconstitutional for the General Legal Council to make it mandatory for LLB holders to write entry examinations as well as pass an interview before they are admitted to pursue their professional careers in law.
