The youth in the Abura-Aseibu Kwamankese District of the Central region are calling for the renaming of the only senior high school in the hometown of the Late Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur after him.
The move according to the youth, is the surest way of immortalising the memory of the late Veep especially in the area.
The late Amissah-Arthur, the youth who operate under the umbrella of “Young Democrats Movement of Abura-Aseibu-Kwamankese” explained was indeed instrumental in the construction of the school hence rewarding his sweat even in his grave.
The late Veep, they add has indeed paid his dues in ensuring development in the area including coming to the rescue of the said school any time the need arose thereby calling for the renaming as a sign of appreciation to the departing Veep.
A burial service will be held at the International Conference Centre in his memory after which a cortege will march the remains through some principal streets of Accra before the interment at the newly built Military cemetery at Burma Camp.
Mr. Amissah-Arthur died on June 29 at the 37 militray hospital after reportedly collapsing at the Air Force Gym while exercising.
