President John Mahama will later today submit his nomination forms to contest the Presidential seat of the NDC for the 2016 elections.

Mahama is expected to submit his forms at the Party’s Office in Adabraka at exactly 4pm local time Monday, officials say.

This evening’s event is happening hours after he met the Functional Executive Committee members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to formally inform them of his decision to present his form.

He told the executives including National Chairman and General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, that his decision to meet and formally inform them of his plans, is in line with the strong government- party relations that has been developed.

Also present at the meeting was Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur who picked the nomination form on behalf of Mahama last Thursday, as well as Chief of Staff Julius Debrah.

Mahama is expected to address supporters of the party at the precincts of the Headquarters after the submission.
