Maverick politician and Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Ken Agyapong has accused some ministers of the Akufo Addo government of being neck deep in a plot against former Minister of Energy, Boakye Agyarko which eventually led to his dismissal.
These ministers, according to Ken Agyapong, conspired with some media personalities to character assassinate Boakye Agyarko whom he described as very brilliant and hardworking.
President, Akufo-Addo, in a letter dated 6th August relieved Boakye Agyarko from office. It was alleged the President took the decision after he realized that he’d been misled into approving the new controversial AMERI deal by an Executive order.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Eko Sii Sen show, Ken Agyapong who’s a financier of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) stated that he wasn’t surprised about Boakye Agyarko sack, because he [Agyarko] always speaks the truth.
“…They don’t like good people, whoever speaks the truth like Boakye Agyarko will have a problem. There was a lot of pressure…NPP ministers met some media personalities at Alisa Hotel and told them to destroy Boakye Agyarko so that the President will sack him. As I’m saying this, these media personalities who were part of that meeting know that I’m speaking the truth.
“But it’s okay I don’t think he has a problem, from 2008 to 2016 when he was not a minister he survived and was doing well. I’m sad about his dismissal but it has already happened and I know he’ll move on.
Asked by the host if he wishes President Akufo Addo will appoint Boakye Agyarko to another entity, Hon. Ken Agyapong said Boakye Agyarko accepting another appointment will amount to him cheapening himself.
“I don’t think he has to accept any post again, why would you want everybody to ridicule you.
