General overseer of Anointed Palace Church, Rev Obofour has disclosed how he had to change his name from Obimpeh to Obofuor.

The Asanteman Bofuor in a video sighted by Kasapafmonline.com, claimed he used Obofuor because his old name Obimpeh and his colleague founder and leader of God’s Way International Church, Bishop Obinim seemed common to congregants and new members.

According to Obofuor, when he started his church at Mamponten in the Ashanti Region, he used to preach on radio with the name Obimpeh and at that time, Obinim who was also based in Kumasi used to preach on Tv so anytime people wanted to visit Obinim’s church, they get confused and come to his church due to similarities of the names.

This according to him went on for a long time without the knowledge of Obinim but it was later resolved before he moved to his current worship centre at Fawoade.

The man of God in recent months has attracted lots of attention for displaying his fleet of cars and other properties.

He is known to be a protégé of the Kumasi-based man of God, Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom.

Before his controversial claim to the ‘angel’ title, Obofour had trended on social media after a video of him and his junior pastors dancing to Shatta Wale’s song emerged online. In the video, Obofour’s church band played Shatta Wale’s ‘Taking Over’ for them to boogie in front of the congregation.
