First runner-up in the first edition of music reality show, ‘Stars of the Future’, William Ramzy Amui, popularly known as Ramzy has disclosed how he eventually lost everything after he was given 10-year jail term.

The secular artiste turned gospel musician told Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kasapa Entertainment, he was surprised when the lady he had planned to marry paid him a visit in prison to give back his promise ring.

Ramzy said his longtime girlfriend told him, she could not wait till he is done serving the ten years so had to move forward.

He said, his former girlfriend is still unmarried since he was freed from the Nsawam Maximum Prison in 2017.

According to him, his prison sentence was a great lesson and was for a good purpose though he is starting all over again.

“My girlfriend at a point told me she can’t wait for me to serve the 20 years jail term so she returned my promise ring but as at now she’s still unmarried. My new song Ek3mi Y3 talked about how I almost ended my life after the additional 20 years was announced.” Ramzy Amui said

Asked how he felt when the additional twenty years judgement was pronounced, Ramzy said, “I was forsaken by ALL except God. Life isn’t fair because I’ve been in prison for ten years and all those I started music with, Samini, Irene Logan, Efya, Tinny have all gone ahead of me now, but I’ve taken the lead in Heaven because I’ve had more time to get closer to God. I stayed in prison and read the whole Bible four times.”

“What I have been through, I have to let the world know that I serve a living God because He is the one who liberated me. I’m supposed to serve (20) twenty years but I did half.

“When I was almost done with the ten (10) years, I went to beg the court but I was given another twenty (20) years to serve to worsen my issue because the judge said the first ten years given to me by the first judge was small. But God had a reason for allowing that to happen. In the dictionary of God, there is no mistake and nothing takes me by surprise.

“God knew what I was going through. All He needed me to do was to believe in Him and I did. In fact I nearly gave up because it got to a point in time especially when I had served six four months before the final judgement of the appeal which brought the twenty years. Members of my family were aware that I’m done with my sentence when suddenly the new Judge who sat on the case sentenced me to another twenty years.

“My mother was stroke stricken immediately after the twenty years judgement was announced. It has not been easy for me and if by the grace of God I’m out, who should I give my thanks to. My prison sentence was same as what Joseph went through.

“Most people especially the youth lack the patience that is why God used me as a living testimony to make you know that if you’re going through any form of situation which beats your mind, don’t give up, don’t kill yourself, don’t end it because the life isn’t yours. The one who gave you this life has a purpose for you. Yours is to be patient, nothing remains the same. Just believe that you serve a living God.”
