Former Minister of Employment and Labour Relations and Member of Parliament for Klortey Korle, Nii Amarh Ashitey says the daughter of ex President Rawlings, Ezenato Rawlings who is challenging him for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) upcoming parliamentary primaries is not a threat.
Political analysts are of the view that the two-term Parliamentarian will have stiff opposition and may possibly loss his seat as the relatively politically immature Ezenator battles him; however Nii Armah remains confident that his good deeds will guarantee him victory.
Speaking to Kasapa 102.3 FM, after filing his nomination on Thursday, the astute politician who was once the Chief Executive Officer of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly stated that his decision to contest for a third term in Parliament is in response to the calls by the constituents on him to continue to represent them in the House of Legislature.
“I don’t see Ezenator as a challenger; she is not a bother to me at all. I know the amount of work I’ve done in the constituency, the delegates and residents are all living witnesses. I’ll continue to occupy this seat come 2017”.
The NDC goes to the polls to elect on November 7 to elect both Presidential and Parliamentary candidates ahead of the 2016 elections.
