The Central Regional Zongo Chief, Alhaji Mamud Dendey Mazanwojey, has urged delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to have a second look at the track record of all their members aspiring for the flagbearer position of the party and be guided on who to vote for when they go to the polls on December 7, 2018.

According to him, the political dynamics in the country has become too complex that it will require an experienced and a very mature person to lead the country.

Therefore, in going to the polls, the delegates should consider someone who has been tried and tested, is matured, and above all, has an unblemished track-record that Ghanaians could relate to.

Twelve candidates have so far publicly declared their intent to contest the flagbearer position of the NDC. Among them are the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, the former President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama, former Chief Executive Officer of the National Heath Insurance Authority (NHIA), Sylvester Mensah, a former Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Ekow Spio-Garbrah, former Vice-Chancellor of the University for Professional Studies (UPS), Prof. Joshua Alabi,
Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South, Kweku Ricketts-Hagan and Goosie Tanoh, and Banker and Oil and Gas Consultant, Nurideen Iddrisu.

The rest are a Banker and oil expert, Nasirudeen Iddrisu, Stephen Atubiga, Elipklim Agbemava, and David Doste Kwame Kuwadah.

But among all the aspiring flagbearer hopefuls, Alhaji Mazanwojey, believes that the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament stands tall looking at his track record in Ghanaian politics.

“With regards to politics in Ghana, only a few could be compared to Hon. Bagbin. He is an epitome of political dynamism in the country. He has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he deserves the flagbearer position of NDC. With what I’ve seen in him having followed him for sometime and also his recent campaign in the regions, I’ve no doubt that Hon. Bagbin can rule Ghana better.”

He made this observation when Hon. Bagbin paid a courtesy call on him at his Palace on Saturday, November 10, 2018. Hon. Bagbin had paid a courtesy call on the Zongo Chiefs and the Chief Imam to seek their permission to interact with their sons and saughters who are NDC delegates. He also, sought thier blessings and support.

Continuing, Alhaji Mazanwojey said having had the opportunity to study Hon. Bagbin, he would recommend to all politicians in Ghana to learn from him.

“All politicians should learn from Bagbin. From the time that he started this journey, I have been following him on the internet. I must say that I am impressed because he has been very civil in his utterances. I have never heard him insult anybody and that is why many of us like him”, he noted.
