I won’t contest for any position in NDC again – Boateng Gyan

Failed National Organizer aspirant of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Yaw Boateng Gyan has announced his retirement from contesting for any position within the party.

According to the former National Organizer, his last contest is the just ended National Executive elections in which he was defeated.

“After my defeat in the just ended elections, I’m done contesting for any position within the NDC. But I’m available to serve on any committee in the party and offer my knowledge and experience to building the NDC which I love so much. I’m not staying away from any future NDC contest because I incurred huge loss in the just ended election, I want the younger ones to take over steering affairs of the party. We need to work hard to return the party to power in 2020,” He told Akwasi Nsiah on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa FM on Monday.

Joshua Akamba who served as the deputy National Organizer for two terms was over the weekend elected the substantive National Organizer after he beat off stiff competition from the likes of Baba Jamal and Yaw Boateng Gyan.

He secured 3,087 out of the over 9000 votes in the Congress held on Saturday and Sunday at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra.

The others secured; Mahdi Gibril 599 votes, Enoch Amoako Nsiah 74, Yaw Boateng Gyan 1,845, Anita Desooso 300, Solomon Nkansah 306 and Baba Jamal 2,107.
