Fun loving Law Lecturer, Dr. Maurice Ampaw has revealed that while he lectured at the Central University, female students harassed him with lots of love proposals wanting to be in a relationship with him.
According to him, he resisted those temptations and ensured that he did not misconduct himself as a respected teacher of the law.
Lawyer Maurice Ampaw made the disclosure while commenting on the dismissal of some six teachers by the Ghana Education Service (GES) for sexual misconduct or immoral act with their female students.
He said in as much as he supports the punitive action meted our to these irresponsible teachers, some of the female students are very bad and consistently tempt their teachers into having sexual affairs with them.
“When I was teaching at Central University, do you know the number of female students who had a crush on me? several of them. Sometimes when the students are returning from vacation they buy me boxer shorts, add £100 cash and put it in my pigeon hole on campus in a bid to draw my attention to them. I had a lot of girls crushing on me, many of the female students came proposing to me,” he told sit-in-host Akwasi Nsiah on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa fm.
Meanwhile, Lawyer Ampaw has dared the affected teachers who feel they’ve been hard done by the GES and their rights trampled upon to proceed to court to seek redress.
“Which of the teacher can dare go to court to challenge his dismissal, none of them can say he’s been treated unfairly administratively. No lawyer worth his salt who knows the law, respects him or herself and is disciplined will ever tolerate such nonsense suit. We say he who comes to equity must come with clean hands. If you are a teacher and you enjoy sex with your students and you are punished why do you go to court? Human rights does not countenance foolishness. If any of these sacked teachers should approach me to fight for them in court I’ll give that teacher a hefty slap. Unless the teacher tells me it’s no true that he misconducted himself sexually with a student,” the popular Lawyer told Akwasi Nsiah on Anopa Kasapaon Kasapa FM.
The affected teachers include Mr. Vincent Nii Amah Otoo, St. Francis SHTS, Akim Oda, Mr. Lester Ansah Djan, Benkum SHS, Larteh – Akuapem, Mr. Adjetey Anum James, Okumaning Ugars Basic, Okumaning Eastern Region, Mr. Bright Akpalu, Akwatia Presbyterian JHS, Akwatia, Mr. William Akompong, Nyankumasi SHS, Assin Nyankumasi and Mr. Robert Seppey, Adumanu D/A Basic School, Asikuma Odoben Brakwa.
He also urged the GES to publish the pictures of the indisciplined teachers at all educational institutions across the country to serve as a deterrent to other misguided teachers.
