The adoption of vigilantism has been quite explicit in Ghanaian politics as the main opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) has yet introduced another vigilante group in the Eastern region to boost the party’s security ahead of a major election in 2020.

This new breed of vigilante groups in the region are in similar fashion stoutly built men mainly identified by their Black T-Shirts apparel with the inscription “Eastern Mambas”.

Information gathered by Kasapafmonline.com suggests Hackman Kabore -the Eastern regional Organizer is in charge of the group and was outdoored to provide security to the former president, John Dramani Mahama, who’s touring the region to meet delegates ahead of the Presidential primaries.

This comes at a time when the ruling NPP is struggling to tame its violent vigilante groups who have in several times held the country to ransom.

The operation of vigilante groups is gaining dominance in Ghana with little official concern about the ramification of the phenomenon especially in a young democratic state like Ghana.

There has been loud wakeup calls over the disbandment of these venomous vigilante groups by the two main political parties-NDC, NPP as a matter of urgency, but the President keeps assuring he’ll stamp out these groups completely without any clear timelines.
