Nigeria’s Immigration Service has reportedly asked four Ghanaian citizens to exit the country back to Ghana on grounds of infringement of the Nigerian Immigration rules.
Although the relationship between the neighbouring countries has been a very peaceful and friendly one from time immemorial, it appears clearly that the Federal Government of Nigeria is uncompromising when it comes to the execution of their laws and furthermore the protection of it.
In a report released by the Public Relations Unit of the Nigerian Immigration Service in Abuja on Friday that four Ghanaians who allegedly violated some rules governing the Country based on their immigration sector are being deported immediately back to their Motherland.
The Nigerian Immigration statement read; “The Nigeria Immigration Service has carried out a Deportation Order as authorized by the Honorable Minister of Interior in respect of four Ghanaian Nationals for violating various provisions of the Immigration Act and Regulations.”
“This is in line with the powers vested on the Honorable Minister of Interior in Section 45(1) and (2) of the Immigration Act 2015. The order which was issued in the interest of the Public affects three, males and a female. They are; Florence Donkor, Simon Gyan, Yeboah Collins and Alhaji Isa”.
The statement further read that; “They were deported to their country of origin via Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja today 22nd March 0900 hrs”.
It also stated that; “The Controller General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede uses this medium to reaffirm the commitment of the Service to enforce laws whenever the need arises while encouraging regular migrants in the country to be law abiding.”
